One of my favorite things about fall, especially when we lived in New England, is fresh apples. We LOVED going apple-picking when we were stationed in Boston/Cape Cod and went every year we were there.
On our first picking expedition, late in the season, we were introduced to Honeycrisp apples. We couldn't pick them that time and had to just buy some that had already been picked because we were so late, but after that we were sure to go early enough in the season to get them fresh from the tree.
If you've never tried a Honeycrisp apple, you are missing out. They are delicious. Scrumptious, even, as Michaela would say.
Of course, there's no where to pick apples here in the deep south, but at least Fresh Market brings them in, so I made a stop in there today just to get apples. And I was not disappointed.
