Day 254 - September 10

There comes a time in every breastfed baby's life (well, at least if you're a breastfed baby in this family) when that baby must learn to drink breast milk from a bottle and not just from the tap. In this family, at least, that is the way that the mommy keeps her sanity by not having to schedule every outing away from the baby in 2-3 hour increments.

Yesterday was Cate's day.

And she had no problem whatsoever with a bottle. Which was a little bittersweet for me. I'm happy that we didn't have to fight it, but she could've maybe pretended for a half a second that it was coming out of the wrong vessel!

Meanwhile, Michaela was beyond excited to get to feed the baby. It's the one thing she's been talking about since we first told her we were going to be having a baby, and I kept having to tell her she wouldn't really be able to do that since I'd be nursing. But she got her chance yesterday and I'm sure she'll be first in line the next time we break out a bottle, which will be on a semi-regular basis to keep Cate up to speed with the whole thing.
