Day 37 - February 6
It's not a Friday, but I guess I can sneak in a picture of me whenever I want.
It was dark in the living room and the girls were both squished on my lap on the floor, but I think this is worth it anyway.

Day 36 - February 5
Yesterday I brought the girls to Target to go look for an outfit for Cate to wear for our family pictures on Friday. This is not at all out of the ordinary - as evidenced by the fact that I have now gone to Target every day for the last 3 days.
What was different was that Michaela asked if she could get flowers for Daddy while we were there. I just thought that was the sweetest thing in the world. But there's a chance she realized that if she got flowers "for Daddy," she'd be able to enjoy them, too.
And, of course, if you have a bouquet, you should also wear your dress-up Barbie bride dress.
Daddy's in trouble with this one.

Day 35 - February 4
Success! The kid finally actually ingested some of the food we gave her! We've been trying all kinds of stuff and she's just had pretty much no interest. No worries since the "bewb juice" (as we like to call it) will stay her primary food until she's one, but it's always fun to watch them try new foods and see how they react.
I have two pictures to show off our girl eating pieces of a hunk of steamed sweet potato (next time I'll roast them). I'm almost 100% sure that she actually swallowed some of it. You can't tell by the pictures that she was actually enjoying it, but she was. And the second picture cracked me up because it was an accidental one. I was trying to start videoing, but I still had the phone set on still pictures and I got that one.
I laughed all over again tonight when I saw it again. She doesn't look very smart!

Day 34 - February 3
So there's talk of some football game on TV tonight. I wonder what that was all about?
We were too busy doing our taxes. Well, not the whole time, thanks to Turbo Tax. But I'm pretty sure we used our time more wisely than watching the game.

Day 33 - February 2
I think I might be Mardi Gras'd out. We went to two parades last weekend, a parade Thursday night, our ball last night, and then we hit up two (really more like one and a half) parades today.
Shortly after I took this picture, Cate fell asleep and stayed that way through the whole rest of the parade. But at least she enjoyed some sunshine and a cool breeze for a little while!

Day 32 - February 1
One month down, only 11 to go!
So I said I'd try to get a picture of me on the blog once every few Fridays... this is my effort for this week. I didn't take the picture, but I'm in it and it was taken with my camera. That has to count for something.
Unfortunately, the lighting wasn't great in Maryanne's hotel room, but this is me and Jason just before we headed down to our Mardi Gras Ball!

Day 31 - January 31
Mimi got into town on Wednesday night (after all kinds of travel delays) so we had to find some fun things to do on Thursday, of course.
While Jason was off at work, we headed to the Mobile Botanical Gardens to scout out a location for a photo shoot with Amy (of Simply b Photos) next Friday.
Besides looking for flowers (which were easy to spot since the camellias were in bloom), I also managed to get Michaela to sit down for two seconds and let me take a picture of her with Mimi. It's not fabulous, but we take what we can get!
